The Shirttail Mess is pleased to announce our event to coincide with our 10th anniversary as a group, an immersive portrayal of the Forbes Expedition of 1758, hosted at Fort Loudon, Pennsylvania.
Participants will take part in a series of period-accurate scenarios grounded in the historical record of the campaign, including ration issues, work details, and scouting parties reflecting the day-to-day realities of frontier service. Tactical battle scenarios will highlight two significant engagements of the 1758 campaign — the Battle of Fort Duquesne and the Battle of Fort Ligonier.
The Shirttail Mess maintains high standards of authenticity in all impressions and equipment, and welcomes participants portraying British, Provincial, French, and Native American impressions of the period. We encourage all interested reenactors to review our impression standards prior to registration.
